Roka Dubai is located in ME Dubai Hotel, situated in The Opus by Zaha Hadid in Dubai’s buzzing Business Bay. Designed by Noriyoshi Muramatsu, Roka Dubai has a distinct modern industrial feel, fusing together brushed concrete, raw wood finishes, metal and leather to provide a distinctly cohesive edgy and chic look and feel. There is a large terrace overlooking the Burj Khalifa is ideal for the cooler months.
Taking place every Saturday and Sunday from 12:00pm, Roka offers an indulgent and elaborate spread that is served in a sharing style. Shortly after we were seated a bowl of edamame and white miso soup was presented to us. The unlimited stream starters include Sushi Platter (assorted sashimi, aburi salmon nigri), Avocado Maki (avocado, asparagus, cucumber, and wasabi peas) and Gyuniku to Goma no Gyzo (beef, ginger and sesame dumplings).
The Okonomi yaki with mixed seafood and bonito flakes is luscious and the crispy Tori kara-age is delightful. The iceberg lettuce with caramelized onion dressing is especially delicious. The homemade assorted Japanese pickles can be requested as part of the starters and these should not be missed. Mild enough to be enjoyed on their own or then paired with the salads, we thoroughly enjoyed the selection of carrots, onions, cucumbers and radish.
In the mains guests can choose an item from the robato main kitchen such as Lamb Cutlets (with Korean spices and sesame cucumber) or Salmon Fillet Teriyaki (with sansho salt). Â Alternatively, dishes can be order from the premium robata selction for a 60 aed supplement per person. Choose from as Black Cod(marinated in yuzu miso) and Beef Fillet (with chilli, ginger,and spring onion).
We picked the Rice Hotpot (with Japanese mushrooms and shaved truffle) was amazingly tasty and wholesome. To finish, the signature Roka Dessert Platter is the perfect sweet ending.
