Hutong serves an impressive array of classic Chinese delicacies at the weekday Business Lunch.
Hutong is a contemporary Northern Chinese restaurant and bar concept from Hong Kong. This award-winning dining destination also has an iconic location at the Shard in London and now its third outpost is at DIFC, Dubai. Known for its fiery Northern Chinese dishes served in an elegant space, with a bespoke interior design inspired by ‘The Four Arts’ of the Qing Dynasty, this restaurant is our latest go-to when it comes to Chinese cuisine.
We recently headed over to Hutong to try the Business Lunch offerings. Between the soup and choice of 1 main course (88 AED) and soup and choices of 2 starters and 1 main course (110 AED), we picked the latter.
The meal started with a mellow flavored asparagus and pea soup. We went on to enjoy the crunchy prawn rolls and spiced chilean sea bass dumplings. The crystal vegetable dumplings may sound boring but they are definitely an explosion of flavors. These delicious starters really got our appetite roaring and we also decided to add the roast peking duck (for an additional cost) to our order as well. The duck is cooked to perfection and meticulously carved by the Chef at the table-it still remains our firm favorite in the entire city.
Once we were satisfied with the copious amounts of duck pancakes we consumed, we went onto our mains. The mapo tofu is fiery and will leave you with that tongue-numbing sensation because of the mala-but we love it! The Sichuan beef tenderloin is moist and melts in the mouth-another winning choice!
Hutong is ideal for a flavorful weekday lunch with colleagues or peers-with its lively atmosphere and outstanding food, it will leave you feeling full and accomplished!
